Why Bicycle Chains And Gears Are Always on The Right.

Have you ever wondered why bicycle chains and gears are always on the right side?

Drivetrains enable riders to pedal a bicycle forward and even change gears in bicycles.

A drivetrain is the set of components in a vehicle that move the wheels forward. In motorized vehicles like cars, they connect the engine and transmission to the wheel axles.

In bicycles, it is where the chain chainset, also known as the crankset, and the cassette sprockets at the rear wheel.

Drivetrains, where the chains and the gears are located on the right side because of the tradition that bicycle makers set in the 1800s.

The tradition was adopted as most people were right-handed, including the makers and customers.

Gears make it easier for riders to pedal depending on the gradient of the road. Mountain bikes have derailleur gears.

A derailleur gear is a mechanism that allows the chain to move from one sprocket to another.

Though modern technology can allow drive chains to be on the left side the challenge is that some bicycle parts fit only when the drive chain is on the right side.

Among Kenyans who love cycling is first lady Rachel Ruto who has an organization, mama Cycling which encourages cycling as a leisure activity and sport.

Demonstrations: Reasons Why African Presidents Use Excessive Force Against Demonstrators.

In many African countries, demonstrations against the sitting government are met with resistance from the authorities, including the use of excessive force, arrests, and even deadly violence.

African presidents who hold on to power often fear protests and demonstrations because of the following reasons:

Threat to their legitimacy: Protests and demonstrations can be seen as a direct challenge to the authority of a sitting president.

When citizens take to the streets to protest against their government, it can undermine the legitimacy of the president and his government, particularly if the protests are widespread and persistent.

This was evident in Kenya in 2017, where protests erupted after the controversial presidential election, resulting in the country being divided along tribal lines.

Fear of losing power: Many African presidents have a long history of clinging to power, often through authoritarian means.

They may fear that protests and demonstrations could turn into a movement that could unseat them from power.

This was the case in Uganda, where President Yoweri Museveni was re-elected in a controversial election in January 2021, and protests broke out soon after the election results were announced.

The authorities responded with deadly force, leading to the deaths of dozens of people.

Fear of destabilization: Some African presidents fear that protests and demonstrations could lead to instability in their countries, particularly if they escalate into violence.

This was the case in South Africa in 2021, where protests against the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma turned violent, resulting in widespread looting and destruction of property.

The government responded with a heavy-handed crackdown, leading to the deaths of over 300 people.

Fear of exposing corruption: Protests and demonstrations can also bring attention to corruption within the government, particularly if they are focused on issues such as mismanagement of public funds, lack of transparency, and accountability.

This was the case in Kenya in 2015, where protests broke out after allegations of corruption within the government were exposed. The protests led to the resignation of several government officials, including the minister of health.

In conclusion, African presidents fear protests and demonstrations against their regimes for a variety of reasons, including threats to their legitimacy, fear of losing power, fear of destabilization, and fear of exposing corruption.

However, it is essential to note that citizens have a right to express their grievances peacefully, and governments should respect this right and address the concerns of their citizens through dialogue and peaceful means.

Why You Should Not Deny Your Man Sex as A Form Of Punishment.

May be an image of one or more people and text

Denying a man sex is a big issue. I have an ex-wife who did that to me. ''Alikuwa na excuses ''(She was full of excuses)and made it seem like sleeping with me was doing me a favor.

I have a policy that when we have an issue, we solve it na mwenye amekosea anasema pole(and whoever is wrong appologise) and we move on. But with her, she used to use sex as a weapon.

When I thought we are done with the issue, I would realize that she is still holding a grudge and any attempt to initiate sex was met with an excuse. I had legally married her and paid dowry so it seriously hurt.

One day I got tired and swore to never ask for sex from her again. I never cheated but kinda turned off that switch. Nikifika home(once i get home), we had the normal family time and when we go to bed I just slept. After one week without touching her she started asking why I never initiated sex. I told her she could initiate too and because of pride, she didn't.

We would just have our normal and the family life was okay but i totally avoided the sex topic. She became so suspicious and started accusing me of cheating. She said that because I had not been sleeping with her, I must be getting it elsewhere.

I rubbished the claim and I remember that night when we got to bed she started to touch me in an attempt to initiate sex. I didn't respond. All my feelings for her had vanished and been replaced by deep hatred. I remember I got so mad. I pushed her hand away forcefully and she looked at me shaking with fear.

I guess she thought I was gonna hit her. I told her to never touch me again. The next weeks she was so eager to talk so that we solve the problem. I told her point blank that her habit of denying me sex had made me lose interest in her and that I never thought I could love her again. This broke her. She asked both parents to intervene but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't forgive her and to be honest, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make love to her.

The sexual attraction had gone. I could begin so well then after some minutes, I couldn't go on. She tried so hard to fix the marriage. She cried, apologized a million times and she lost weight due to stress. I was like "haiya, kumbe ulikuwa na haja na ndoa"( ooh, so were interested in the marriage). We separated and later divorced a year later.

Ladies, you would rather find other conflict resolution skills rather than deny a man sex. That's like the only thing we marry you for. To a man, it hurts and the moment ''mwanaume amekutoa kwa roho'' that's it. Some of you lost your men to other women and you started accusing other women of using witchcraft. To be honest, there is rarely witchcraft involved.

Is it wrong to bathe after having that sumptuous meal? Find out why you should not worry.

There is a myth that one should not shower immediately after having a meal. The belief is that doing so can cause indigestion and other digestive issues.

However there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. In fact there are several benefits to bathing after eating, such as helping to relax the body and reduce stress, which can aid in digestion. It's also a great way to cleanse the skin and remove any food particles that may be stuck to the skin.

It's also ok to bath before meal and in fact some people have habit of taking bath before meal as a form of refreshing the body. It's generally recommended to wait at least 30 minutes after a meal before bathing, to allow the body time to begin the digestion process.

But this is not a rule but one can bath as per his/her comfortability, If one feels comfortable taking a bath immediately after eating, it should not cause any harm. Additionally, the timing of a meal in relation to a bath is not as important as the overall health of an individual.

For example, if a person has a medical condition that affects their digestion, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or acid reflux, they may need to take extra precautions when it comes to bathing after eating. In such cases, it would be best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the best course of action.
It's also worth noting that if you are taking a very hot bath, that can be a contributing factor to digestion issues because the hot water can cause blood vessels to dilate and cause blood flow to shift away from the digestive system. This is not the case with a normal temperature bath, luke worm bath is most suitable after a meal.

Generally, it's important to listen to your body and pay attention to how it feels after a meal. If you experience discomfort or indigestion after bathing immediately after meals, it may be best to wait a bit longer before taking a bath.

But if you feel comfortable and relaxing after taking a bath then it's fine to continue with the same. It's also worth noting that the type of food consumed and the amount of food consumed can also affect whether or not it's safe to bathe immediately after eating. Consuming a heavy or high-fat meal may make an individual feel more uncomfortable after bathing as compared to consuming a light or low-fat meal.

So if you are planning to take a bath after a heavy meal, it's best to wait for some time to allow the body to start the digestion process and for the food to move down to the stomach.
Another important factor to consider when it comes to bathing after eating is the water temperature. As mentioned earlier, a hot bath can cause dilation of blood vessels and shift blood flow away from the digestive system, which can negatively impact digestion. In contrast, a lukewarm or warm bath can be relaxing and help to promote digestion.

So, if you are planning to take a bath after a meal, it's best to stick to lukewarm water to avoid any negative impacts on digestion. In summary, bathing after a meal is not a problem and there is no harm in it. It is a myth.

While it is generally recommended to wait 30 minutes to an hour after eating before bathing, the timing ultimately depends on the individual and their comfort level. And, it's also important to consider the type of food consumed, the amount of food consumed, and the water temperature before taking a bath.
